Though I Haven't Seen You, My Heart Knows You.

Yes, this is true, this is the reality, That I have not seen you, O dear Prophet!
I wasn't born in your era, Nor could I be your companion in your travels.
I couldn't hear the comfort of your voice, Nor could I fight against the disbelievers in the battles.
I wasn't there as the Quran was revealed to you, To hear you teach it and see hearts healed by its light.
I couldn't taste the sweetness of migration, To leave the world and seek Allah's pleasure.
Nor could I sit among the Ansars' ranks, To offer my service to you with devotion.
Nor witness your patience amidst life's loss and gain, By learning to live life despite the pain.
I did not stand by you in the Battle of Uhud, To have my share in the hardships and shed my blood.
I couldn't dig the trenches at Khandaq alongside you, To witness faith overpower the enemy's strength.
Nor could I weep with you in the year of grief, Offering my support and kind words to you in time of despair.
I wasn't there when you experienced Taif's pain, To ease your wound yet see your hands in prayer for mercy remain.
When you were alone in the cave of Hira or hiding in Thawr, I couldn't bring you an ounce of comfort.
I wasn't present as a witness in your last sermon, To hear and abide by it with my soul.
But I swear by Allah, this too is true, That O dear Prophet, the love in my heart for you is deep.
I may have not lived in your blessed time, But the legacy you've left behind continues to shine.
Through your Sunnah, I find my lost way, Seeking guidance from it night and day.
Though I have not seen you, My heart sends blessings in your name, for in it, I find solace.
There's an Arabic saying that goes,
مَن أَحَبَّ شَيئًا أَكثَرَ ذِكْرُه
"Whoever loves a thing will make its remembrance abundantly."
In a narration by Imam An-Nasa'i, he mentions that the Prophet (SAWS) said:
"Whoever sends Salawat upon me once, will be blessed by it tenfold, erased by it ten sins, and raised by it ten degrees in status." (Sunan An-Nasa'i)
So the one reading this, let us send blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS), the one who stood in the stillness of every night in prayer, seeking forgiveness for his Ummah. The one who longed to meet us in the heavens above, his love surpassing even that for his blessed companions!
As Allah says in the Quran, 'Say, O Prophet, If you love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (Surah Ali- Imran, Verse 31)
