Some words don't just stay on the page. They sit quietly within your heart. They meet you on difficult days and remind you who you are trying to be. These are some of the words that did that for me.
And I hope that at least one moves your heart too. (In Sha Allah)
1. When you don't appreciate a daughter, it's like you're not appreciating your own mother, that's where you came from. ā Nouman Ali Khan, Revive Your Heart: Putting Life in Perspective
Can we even possibly imagine a world without women?
A world without the gentle touch of a mother, the peaceful company of a wife or the joy of having a daughter.
When Allah Himself has compared His mercy to that of a mother how dare we feel remorse at the birth of a baby girl?
2. If you believe in justice, surely you believe in the hereafter, because this world is not just. - Nouman Ali Khan
When women and children are killed in Palestine and Sudan, can we call that justice? When babies are starved, and innocent children are orphaned, can we call that mercy?
If the answer is no, then we must accept a painful truth: true justice was never meant to be fully realized here.
This life is a test. And justice, in its perfect form, is reserved only for the Hereafter.
3. How many of us would be able to overcome our desires and resist the temptation of sin? How many of us even lower our gaze when we look upon something that we are not supposed to? Freedom is not found in chasing every temptation of this fleeting world. The real loss is when the nafs begins to control the heart and in return the heart forgets its Lord.
4. If you have a good heart, thank the Almighty. Don't ever regret it. You may be let down by people, and you'll be disappointed but no matter what happens, you'll end up the winner. He knows and sees everything. - Mufti Menk
A good heart may feel heavy in this world, but it is never unnoticed by Allah. People may betray you, misunderstand you, or walk away but your sincerity is never wasted.
5. Your hardship won't last. Your sadness won't last. Nothing lasts in this world. Every test you go through will empower you. You'll be OK. - Mufti Menk
Every pain in this life has an expiry, even when it feels endless. What you are walking through is shaping you, not meant to break you. So, trust that Allah does not bring you this far in a test only to abandon you now.
6. In this world there is a paradise, whoever does not enter it will not enter the Paradise of the Hereafter. - Ibn Taymiyyah
The paradise in this world is not built of pearls or gold but it is the peace of a heart that knows its Lord. And whoever tastes that closeness here, will always long for nothing more than eternity with Him.
7. When Allah loves you, He places the love of you in the hearts of the people whose love is worth having. - Omar Sulaiman
Some people will cross your path and leave footprints on your heart. The ones whose love truly matters, who lift you, support you, cherish you, and bring goodness in you are a unique gift from Allah. And sometimes, that love arrives exactly when your heart needs it the most.
8. Never forget the favors done for you. Always forget the favors you've done for others. - Omar Sulaiman
Gratitude softens the heart, but pride hardens it. Remember the kindness you receive, but never the one you give, for love is never a transaction.
9. The pious are in bliss even if life becomes tough and tight, while the sinners are in torment even if life is made easy for them. - Ibn al-Qayyimah
True contentment doesn't come from comfort or luxury. It grows in hearts that are connected to Allah, even amidst struggles. And the emptiness of the world cannot fill a heart that has turned away from Him.
10. "Allah loves us just for trying. He loves us just for the effort." - Omar Suleiman
Dear Reader,
Sometimes it feels like we're failing at everything, in our prayers, patience, our relationships. But even in the smallest steps you carry out, Allah sees your struggle. Even in moments when you feel unseen or unworthy, He loves the effort you put in.
And that alone is enough.
He doesn't ask you to be perfect, but to just keep striving as much as you can.
