If Only You Knew What Was Written for You...
... But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners. (Surah Al-Anfal 8:30)

At times there are moments in life when the weight of uncertainty just feels unbearable to live with, when our plans don't seem to work out, the dreams we chase seem to slip through our fingers. In those moments, we tend to forget that the story unfolding is not one out of randomness but one crafted and inked by the One who knows us better than we could ever know ourselves.
As humans we are natural planners. We often plan out things. From the smallest decisions, to choosing what outfit to wear for the day to deciding where to build our homes or who to spend our lives with, mapping out every little detail of how we hope our lives will unfold often times without realising the One who is really in control.
Life often brings us unexpected surprises, leaving us wondering what could have gone wrong. What we tend to overlook in those very instances is the fact that it wasn't a misstep but rather a redirection by the One who knows the full picture.
In our limited vision what we don't realise is that these delays that seem like denials are actually hidden forms of protection, a mercy from Allah.
For example, you may find yourself really annoyed when the flight is delayed by an hour. But what if that very hour was the one that saved your life? What if boarding on time would have led to a tragedy you were never destined to face?
You may grieve when faced rejection from a proposal but what if that closed door was meant to protect you from a miserable marriage filled with hardships and sorrow?
Sometimes, even when you find the right person, the one with whom your heart is at peace with, despite that you're still made to wait... You wonder why, when everything seems right. It feels unfair.
But what if this waiting is not a punishment, but a preparation?
What if Allah is preserving that love inside of your heart, allowing it to be built on a foundation much deeper than just a whirlwind of emotions and excitement - one rooted in Tawakkul (trust), Sabr (patience) and Dua (prayer).
Many times the delay is not in the arrival of the person, but in the unfolding of your own journey towards becoming the right companion for them.
Our true faith is not tested when everything goes according to our plans. It is tested when life moves in ways we can't comprehend. True tawwakul is trusting the Author of your story even when you do not know what's the next chapter.
It is believing that every unanswered prayer is being answered in a way that your heart will someday thank Him for.
These delays you face, these pauses are not Allah's way of abandoning you but to protect you, to shield you from the unseen harm. They are signs of His knowledge of the unseen, His mercy in ways we don't recognise.
So plan, make the right effort to the best of your abilities and then surrender your plans to the One who has written the most beautiful destiny for you.
And when the weight of waiting feels heavy again, remind yourself:
"If only you knew what was written for you, your heart would be at peace."
