There was once a time in my life where I desperately needed something to happen. I prayed consistently, planned it all and even imagined scenarios in my head how it might turn out. I thought I had mapped out the perfect way forward.
But what I didn't know was what lay beyond my own plans - the unseen known only to Allah.
Just 2 months later after what I had decided a miracle occurred. I wouldn't call it any less than a miracle! Allah opened a door for me I had never expected in my wildest imagination. And what felt truly impossible in my human insight just....happened!
So effortlessly.
As if it had been written all along, up in the skies. That was the turning point in my life where I finally understood what 'Kun Faya Kun' truly means.
It's not just any other phrase. It's a word that can change the sick to being healthy. The poor to the rich. The childless to having a child. The unmarried to be blessed with a companion. From drought to showers of rain. From the hot summer heat to breezy autumn winds.
Just how this single word brought the earth into existence, painted the sky's canvas with stars and galaxies, flooded the oceans and seas with water, filled the valleys with springs, adorned trees with ripe fruits, decorated the plants with pretty flowers and turned barren ground to fertile soil, it is also the one that brings changes to our lives daily.

All it takes, when He wills something ˹to be˺, is simply to say to it: "Be!" And it is! (Surah Yasin, Verse 82)
Every answered prayer, every little change that you see around is nothing but a result of just one 'Kun' (Be) of His and it gets fulfilled in the blink of an eye.
These are the moments where life shifts when you least expect it to. The times where changes come without your planning. Where a door suddenly opens, paving a way out for you after years of rejection and ongoing struggle. Perhaps healing from a disease that comes after years of waiting and patience. Or the death of a loved one who seems too young to suffer from an illness.
It's a quiet reminder that when He wills, the impossible doesn't take time it simply is. That when a decision is made, no matter how big and small it is always in need of that 'Kun' to actually come into life. No human, no being on this earth has the power to make something happen unless the Lord above wills it to.
Every prayer that your lips utter, and every dream that lingers in your longing heart is just but one breath away from yearning to it's fulfilment by that single word through which even reality itself bends to the will of its Creator.
The power of this 'Kun' can be seen in the wife of Imran, who prayed for a righteous child and was thereby blessed with Maryam (AS) in return who later became the mother of a noble Prophet of Allah.

[Mention, O Muhammad], when the wife of 'Imran said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing." (Surah Al Imran, Verse 35)
But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, "And the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah ]." (Surah Al Imran, Verse 36)
Maryam (AS) giving birth to Prophet Isa (AS) when no man had ever touched her.

She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is. (Surah Al-Imran, Verse 47)
In the story of Prophet Zakkariya (AS) where he and his wife had reached old age but he still prayed to Allah for a child and was later granted Prophet Yahya (AS).

He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy. And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir. Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Yaqoob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]." (Surah Al-Maryam, Verse 4–6)
These are not just mere stories, they are real life events that occurred in the history of Islam, preserved in the Book of the One with Whose command each plan is executed to life.
Now after going through these timeless examples, pause and turn your gaze inward. Recall a moment when your own heart carried a need so deep , so impossible as the story of Maryam (AS) came into being. A new job, maybe a proposal that seemed too out of reach, or simply an invitation to the two most blessed cities on earth.
Remember how you planned, worried, and even begged in the quiet darkness of your room. But what if for a moment, you just blindly trust that the One who spoke galaxies into existence holds your dreams and hopes in His hand.
What if, instead of trying to control every outcome, you let your heart rest in that trust and keep showing up with hands raised, even when nothing seems to be changing? Never lose hope in the power of your Duas.
Remember, it has always been just one sincere prayer that changed the entire course of a person's life. So don't stop asking, because you never know, your miracle might already be on its way to you, even if you can't see it just yet.
